By the grace of Allah, CIIT has evolved exceedingly well in a short span of time. The Institute takes pride in the high-quality of its teaching and research activities, in engineering, mathematics and management sciences. Many other disciplines are in the pipeline as well. The Institute aspires to generate a class of engineers and scientists who can add value to the society.

CIIT enjoys an enviable presence in the country and abroad. The diversity of Institute’s instruction and research areas enable studies within the various disciplines as well as in interdisciplinary programs. This enables our scholars to meet contemporary and imminent national needs.

A paradigm shift is taking place in higher education. The role of institutes of higher learning is being revisited. Universities are shifting from being institutions providing instruction to institutions producing learning. CIIT endeavors to be the leader of this change in Higher Education. The Institute fully endorses the transition ‘from the sage on the stage to the guide on the side’. It provides opportunities for intellectual stimulation and active learning through innovative pedagogy and co-curriculum activities. At CIIT, we not only aspire to instill professional acumen in our students, but also inspire the students to be adequately prepared for life, work, and civic participation. Message From The Director COMSATS, Sahiwal

COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Sahiwal has, for more than six years, been dedicated to its mission to nurture scholars who will contribute to society by advancing knowledge and imparting it to new generations of students. Staff, students and supporters take pride in having contributed to COMSATS Institute of Information Technology reputation as Pakistan’s flagship, research-led university, known for the excellence of its teaching, its research, and its service to its local, national and international communities.

Society is changing rapidly in ways which will have a profound impact on the role of universities. The 21st century will see, for the first time, a decline in the number of people of working age. This trend, coupled with the changes that innovation brings, will have a major effect on the way people work and the kinds of jobs they do. In a world where change is the norm, however, one thing is certain - knowledge will be a key resource and will be highly sought after within Pakistan and around the globe. The challenge - shared by all universities - is to help to generate the intellectual property which will create new jobs, and to educate and train people to work in fields where they will be valued both for their specialized knowledge, and for their ability to research, communicate and solve problems.

Key to meeting these challenges is the need to build on the alliances and collaborative partnerships the Institute has established with business, industry, government, and other research institutions. These networks, together with the support of alumni and friends here and overseas, are critically important if Pakistan is to realize the full benefits of its investment in the Institute. It is equally important for the Institute to keep close to its wider communities of interest within Pakistan and internationally. This will help to ensure the ongoing relevance of our academic programmes and the continued excellence of our teaching, learning and research.
