Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are very important for students so that they can engage in other positive activities during their free time. This was said by the Director COMSATS University Islamabad, Sahiwal Campus Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmad Zafar while addressing the opening ceremony of the university's Student Week Fall 2023.

In-charge Student Affairs Dr. Zafar Iqbal Rai, Deputy Registrar Rana Adeel Abad, Sports Assistant, all HODs, faculty/staff members, students and media representatives participated in the said event.

The ceremony started with a recitation of the Holy Quran. Professor Dr. Nazir Ahmad Zafar along with the Head of Departments inaugurated by cutting the ribbon, lighting the torch and releasing the pigeons.

Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmad Zafar welcomed the guests and informed them about the activities of Student Week Fall 2023. He said that in view of the pain and suffering of the Muslim brothers of Palestine, a complete ban has been imposed on music and songs during Student Week. He said that sports activities have been increased. The aim of Student Week is to involve students in healthy activities that are important for their grooming and personality development. He said that academic and extracurricular activities are interrelated. He exhorted all the students to actively participate in sports and other activities.

In-charge Student Affairs Dr. Zafar Iqbal Rai said that a special fundraising activity has also been started for the financial assistance of the Palestinians. In which funds will be collected from faculty, staff, and students.

During the event, students wore Palestinian scarves to express their love for their Palestinian brothers, during which the students of COMSATS Dramatic Society also presented a special play on the ongoing international indifference in Palestine.

Student Week will conclude on Friday 24th November 2023 by celebrating Folk Heritage and Cultural Day.
