Sahiwal, Friday, March 18, 2016:
84th Convocation of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) system was
held at CIIT Sahiwal on Friday, March 18, 2016 in which, 292 students were conferred
degrees whereas, 23 students were awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals.
Prof. Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi (S.I, H.I), Rector CIIT was the Chief Guest. The members
of Board of Governors and Academic Council were also present in this mega event.
Ch. Nauraiz Shakoor Khan, former Federal Minister, Ministry of Science & Technology,
Haji Ihsan ul Haq Idrees, Chairman, PHA Sahiwal Division, Ch. Sultan Mahmood, Ch.
Zamurd Sultan, Sh. Muhammad Chohan, Ex MPA Sahiwal, Mr. Saif Jan, Regional Head,
UFone, Media Officials, Govt. Officials, Civil Society representatives, Principal
Officers from CIIT, Principal Seat, Islamabad, Head of Departments, Faculty members
and large number of parents of graduating students were also present in the event.
The said event was arranged in grassy lawn at CIIT Sahiwal which was started with
the recitation from the holy Quran and then National Anthem.
Afterwards, the Deans of concerned Faculties presented their graduating students
to the Rector CIIT for conferment of degrees in Management Sciences, Computer Science,
Biosciences, Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering disciplines.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Waheed, Director CIIT Sahiwal campus presented his welcome speech.
He congratulated to the graduating students and their proud parents for achieving
this milestones. While, presenting the Campus Report, he shared important developments
in the campus. He shared information about number of academic programs, students
and faculty members. He further shared information about ongoing and forthcoming
development projects at CIIT Sahiwal.
Mr. Sultan, a graduating student presented his speech on behalf of all graduating
students.
Before conferment of degrees, the topper students were awarded medals. Their names
are Mr. Mubashar Hussain, Ms. Amna Sohail, Ms. Rida Fatima, Ms. Aneela Aslam, Mr.
Muhammad Bilal, Mr. Afaq Ahmad Butt, Mr. Hafiz Muhammad Shahzad, Mr. Harood Nishat,
Mr. Muzna Ghafoor, Mr. Sidra Sharif, Ms. Hafiza Tuba Ishtiaq, Ms. Aqla Nasir, Mr.
Atif Ali Khan, Mr. Mazhar Ahmad Rana, Mr. Hafiz Muhammad Amir Sharif, Mr. Muhammad
Abrar Ashraf, Ms. Rahama Shahid.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. S.M. Junaid Zaidi (S.I, H.I), Rector CIIT congratulated
all graduating students and their parents. He advised all graduating student to
work hard and contribute to economic development of the Pakistan.
This mega event ended up with vote of thanks from and to the Chief Guest. Later
on, the group photos session was made to capture this memorable event organized
for the graduating students.
