Developer Circles from Facebook have launched a Program with the objective to 'educate,
enable and empower’ local communities for developers (Web/ App/ Gaming/ Robotics)
around the world to access information, share knowledge and collaborate with other
developers. Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has collaborated with COMSATS
Sahiwal as its partner to host and run this program.
Facebook Developer Circles have launched their Sahiwal chapter at the e-Rozgaar
center in COMSATS Sahiwal.
Ms. Elisha Tan, Facebook Marketer and Creator of Tech Ladies traveled from Singapore
especially for this launch.
Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat, Director and Mr. Safdar Ali, Deputy Registrar/
Focal Person of COMSATS Sahiwal welcomed Ms. Elisha Tan and whole team of the PITB.
Short meeting was arranged in conference room which was attended by Heads of Computer
Sciences, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
ORIC and other academic departments where, detailed discussion was made on the objectives
of this collaborative initiative. Everyone was supportive of this initiative and
thankful to Ms. Elisha Tan and the management of PITB.
Mr. Safdar Ali, Focal Person, COMSATS Sahiwal, Mr. Ejaz Farooq, Site Manager, Mr.
Muhammad Asghar, Lab Manager, the person leading the Developer Circles from e-Rozgaar,
Mr. Waleed Ahmad Chughtai arranged for the entire affairs smoothly and was fully
supported by the management of COMSATS Sahiwal.
Mr. Shajeel Afzal (CEO of SumatoDev), technical trainer and Mr. Waleed Chughtai
addressed the students and talked to them about its need in revolutionizing how
we see coding.
Capt.(R), Mr. Salman Tariq, the Sahiwal Developer Circle Lead then set out the grounds
for a comprehensive training session on ‘Facebook Login & Account Kit’ which made
the topic practically simpler and applaudable for all the attendees.
The motion continued with the Resource Person, Ms. Elisha Tan who briefed about
details of the program including benefits to the community with examples of individuals
that have achieved progression and success in their area of interests through these
circles.
The whole activity concluded with group pose of Ms. Elisha Tan with all trainees,
the management of COMSATS and PITB team followed by the working lunch and presentation
of souvenirs to Ms. Elisha Tan and the PITB officials by Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq
Shaukat in Conference room.
