Announcement of Indigenous 5000 PhD Fellowships for new intake 2016-17

Applicants are invited from outstanding Pakistani / AJK nationals for PhD studies from HEC recognized Universities / Degree Awarding Institutions.The scholarship is being offered for the academic year 2016-17 in all areas of Studies / Disciplines under the project entitled Indigenous PhD Fellowship for 5000 Scholars- Phase-II in the following four categories:

• Bachelor/ Master 16 years completed.
• Master/ MPhil 18 years completed.
• Master/ MPhil 18 years enrolled.
• Enrolled in PhD on or after Spring 2015.

Eligibility Criteria

• Pakistani/AJK National
• For MS/MPhil, the candidates must have minimum of 16 years of education with no 3rd division or Grade D in degree/certificate in the entire academic career.
• Candidates applying for direct PhD scholarships must have minimum CGPA 3.0( out of 4.0 in the semester system) or first division (in the annual system) in MS/MPhil/Equivalent degree is required along with the condition mentioned above in clause (b).
• Maximum age at the closing date of application i.e. December 15, 2015: i. 40 years for full-time regular faculty members of public sector university/DAIs and regular employee of the public sector/R&D organizations ii. 35 years for all others.
• The candidates who are already availing any other HEC/Government scholarship are NOT eligible to apply.

Application Procedure

Applicants are required to submit only online application available at HEC website www.hec.gov.pk. Hard copy of application and any other documents are not required at this stage. Applicants are required to upload and keep the record Original online deposit slip/ ATM Transfer Slip of Rs. 500/-(non-refundable) as application processing fee in favor of Director General Finance, HEC. Fee can be deposited through any bank in Account Number 1742-79001334-01 Habib Bank Limited.
The last date for submission of online application is January 31, 2017.
