In line with vision of respected Commissioner Sahiwal, Mr. Ali Bahadur Qazi and
Worthy Director CIIT Sahiwal, Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat Japanese delegation
visited COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), Sahiwal. The objective
of their visit was to interact with faculty, students and management of COMSATS
to know the art and culture of Sahiwal division. Visit to Montgomery museum was
also part of their visit.
Japanese delegation was led by PROF. SO YAMANE whereas, four students (Ms. Risa
Nakayama, Ms. Hina Nagai, Ms. Rina Harin and Mr. Shirakana) from Graduate School
of Language and Culture, University of Osaka, Japan were also with him.
The delegation was accompanied by Dr. Anwaar Ahmad, Ex DG, NLA Islamabad /Former
Dean, BZU, Multan, Dr. Zafar Hussain Harral, Assistant Professor, GCU, Faisalabad,
Prof. Dr. Shoaib Ateeq Khan, Prof. Dr. Rubina Tareen, Advocate Mr. Khurram Ali Khan,
Dr. Riaz Hussain Hamdani, Resident Director, Arts Council Sahiwal and many other
educationists.
Mr. Safdar Ali, Deputy Registrar along-with Prof. Dr. Shahid Rajput, Prof. Dr. Hamid
and Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim welcomed them at main entrance. First of all, they visited
Montgomery Museum. Prof. Dr. Shahid Rajput, HoD Heritage Studies briefed them about
the antiquities placed there. The foreign delegation taken keen interest in culture
and civilization of this area. They appreciated the management of COMSATS Sahiwal
for making this museum which would help promoting culture among students.
After visiting museum, the delegation was taken towards e-Rozgaar center. Mr. Muhammad
Asghar, Lab Manager briefed them about objectives and activities of e-Rozgaar center,
established under Chief Minister's e-Rozgaar Program. He explained how this center
is helping young graduates to become their own boss. He further elaborated the role
of PITB and COMSATS Sahiwal. The delegation appreciated the role of PITB, COMSATS
and the Govt. of the Punjab for strengthening technical skills of the youth.
The delegation paid visit to newly established PhD faculty block. They interacted
with many faculty members and students during their visit. Last but not least, an
interactive session was arranged in Conference Room which was attended by foreign
delegation, Mr. Safdar Ali, Deputy Registrar, Prof. Dr. Shahid Rajput, two alumni
of Japanese universities working at COMSATS Sahiwal (Prof. Dr. Hamid, Dr. Muhammad
Ibrahim), Dr. Anwaar Ahmad, Ex DG, NLA Islamabad /Former Dean, BZU, Multan, Dr.
Zafar Hussain Harral, Assistant Professor, GCU, Faisalabad, Prof. Dr. Shoaib Ateeq
Khan, Prof. Dr. Rubina Tareen, Advocate Mr. Khurram Ali Khan, Dr. Riaz Hussain Hamdani,
Resident Director, Arts Council Sahiwal and many other educationists.
On behalf of Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat, Worthy Director CIIT Sahiwal, Mr.
Safdar Ali, Deputy Registrar, CIIT Sahiwal thanked the delegation for their visit
at CIIT Sahiwal. He shared detailed presentation on PowerPoint. He briefed them
about COMSATS, its history, achievement, ranking, academic program and scholarship
opportunities. Detailed discussion was made on prospects of collaborative research,
faculty and student exchange program among CIIT and Osaka University, Japan.
The delegation was surprised to know the rich history of COMSATS and its national
& international ranking. PROF. SO YAMANE wished to move towards collaborative research
and students exchange in many common areas. The visit concluded with working lunch
and presentation of souvenirs to the delegation followed by the group photo. Mr.
Safdar Ali, Deputy Registrar presented souvenirs to foreign professor and his students.
Prof. Dr. Shahid Rajput was also with him.
