Plant for Pakistan tree plantation campaign held at CUI, Sahiwal Campus followed
by an awareness walk regarding Clean Green Pakistan and Plant for Pakistan.
Prof Dr Saleem Farooq Shaukat Director CUI, Sahiwal Campus along with HoDs, faculty,
officers, staff members.On the occasion, plantation occurred in large scale.
Whilst launching a plantation campaign under Plant for Pakistan at COMSATS
University, Sahiwal Campus. Prof Dr Saleem Farooq Shaukat Director CUI, Sahiwal
Campus said that the campus is kept clean and green in order to keep the Sahiwal
campus nearest to the natural environment. Worthy Director, CUI, Sahiwal addressed
the ceremony on the subject of conserving and protecting nature. He said, it is
the responsibility of the institutions as well as the people to take measures to
reduce environmental pollution.
During his address, Prof Dr Saleem Farooq Shaukat, Director CUI, Sahiwal informed
the gathering about last year’s plantation campaign, as a large number of plantations
were carried out by the COMSATS University. More than 10,000 saplings were planted
last year, including mango, moringa, sashim, bikinis, gall, zanobia, jamun, cucumber,
sambal, poplar during the campaign. He said that 4,000 plants have been
planted in the campus as well as alongside Canal. The plants are constantly maintained
by the Horticultural Department of the campus in order to provide a better future
to our generations.
