Fifth (5th) e-Rozgaar Center has been launched at COMSATS Sahiwal.
Dr. Umar Saif, Chairman, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB)/ Advisor to
Chief Minister Punjab/ Vice Chancellor, Information Technology University was the
Chief Guest whereas, Mr. Sajid Latif, Director General (E-Governance), PITB was
the Guest of Honor. Mr. Nabeel A. Qadeer, Director (Entrepreneurship), PITB was
also among the delegations.
Prof.Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat, Director, COMSATS Sahiwal has received and welcomed
the Chief Guest at main entrance. Mr. Safdar Ali, Focal Person, Chief Minister's
e-Rozgaar Program.at COMSATS Sahiwal, Dr. Majid Hussain, Mr. Rana Adeel Abad and
different HoDs were also present at reception place.
A short briefing session was arranged in Conference Room where, Prof. Dr. Saleem
Farooq Shaukat briefed the Chief Guest and other delegations about CIIT, its history,
Achievements, ranking, degree programs and scholarship scheme. All HoDs were also
present in this briefing session.
Dr. Umar Saif was surprised to know about the CIIT history and its achievement in
very short time. He shared that he has missed the chance to visit this prestigious
institution before. He was excited to see the lush green and well maintained campus
of COMSATS with more than 3,200 students in Sahiwal.
The delegation also visited Montgomery Museum at COMSATS Sahiwal. Dr. Umar Saif
appreciated the efforts of management of COMSATS for establishing this museum which
will help our youths to understand the culture and heritage of this area.
The Ribbon Cutting and Inauguration of e-Rozgaar Center was made by Dr. Umar Saif
and Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat. Mr. Sajid Latif, DG, E-Governance and Mr. Nabeel
A. Qadeer, Director, Entrepreneurship were also with them.
After opening of center, Dr. Umar Saif and Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat addressed
to the trainees available in the lab.
Afterwards, formal ceremony was started with recitation from the holy Quran and
National Anthem in main pandal which was set in lush green lawn near CS Block.
The Director COMSATS Sahiwal, Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat shared welcome speech
whereas, the Chairman PITB, Dr. Umar Saif shared concluding remarks. They shared
about the background and importance of e-Rozgaar Center which is an initiative of
Chief Minister Punjab's e-Rozgaar Program. PITB is execution agency of this program
of national interest.
These two officials signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for establishing e-Rozgaar
Center at COMSATS Sahiwal.
Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat, Director COMSATS Sahiwal presented souvenir to
Mr. Umar Saif, Chairman PITB whereas Dr. Umar Saif presented Souvenir to Prof. Dr.
Saleem Farooq Shaukat.
Six Senior Officials from PITB were awarded gifts by the Director COMSATS Sahiwal,
Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat.
The ceremony concluded with group photo and media talk.
